The Police and Crime Commissioner welcomed the Youth Commission’s Big Conversation findings and recommendations at a conference on Saturday 23 November.

The Police and Crime Commissioner’s Youth Commission has been shortlisted for a National Crimebeat award for its campaign to raise awareness among young people of the signs of an unhealthy relationship and the help available.

The work of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Youth Commission in giving young people a voice has been recognised in the latest issue of a key publication aimed at teachers and health professionals working with young people.

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week (14-20 May) the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Youth Commission is launching an art competition to raise awareness of and to understand perceptions of mental health.

On Saturday, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Youth Commission brought together young people, the Police and Crime Commissioner, Hampshire Constabulary and a wide range of stakeholders at their recognition conference in Winchester.  80 people attended to hear what they had achieved through campaigning on a range of issues.

The Police and Crime Commissioner’s Youth Commission has submitted findings of its consultation with over 3,300 young people across Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton to Government in a bid to ensure pupils are getting the information they need to thrive in the increasingly complex and digital world.

Michael Lane, Police and Crime Commissioner, is pleased to see the hard work of his Youth Commission recognised with the award of “Inspiring” winner in the British Youth Council Awards.

The Youth Commission were invited to attend an event held by Hampshire constabulary on national children’s take over day last week.

The Youth Commission attended their third Fit Fest recently. The event aims to empower and encourage young people to look after their physical, emotional and mental health through their mantra: Get Fit, Get Healthy. Get Happy!

Congratulations to members of the Youth Commission, who have already beaten their target of 1,700 responses to their ‘Big Conversation’, over three months ahead of the consultation closing. 

Each year, the members of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Youth Commission talk to young people across the region to find out more about their issues with crime and policing.
