New Police Stations and Front Counters
Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones is committed to increasing police visibility. In September 2023, the Commissioner announced her plans to open 10 more police stations and front counters to the public, and in July 2025, the Commissioner committed to opening a further three police stations, bringing the total to 13.
Opening more police station and front counters is part of the Commissioner’s plan to transform the police estate and its buildings. She is one of only a handful of Commissioners in the country who has full control of police buildings which is why she is determined to make changes to deliver the police service the public expect.
Every decision the Commissioner makes about police stations is about fulfilling her top three priorities
- Delivering the best possible service to the public
- Delivering value for money for tax-payers
- Providing the best possible environment for police officers and staff to be able to do their job

FAQs
Are any other police stations being considered?
The Commissioner will continue to review the police estate in line with operational policing requirements.
How many police stations are open to the public in Hampshire and on the Isle Wight?
When the Commissioner announced she was going to open 10 more police stations and front counters, just 12 were open to the public. The drive to open another three police stations on top of that, means she will have more than doubled the number of publicly accessible police stations in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight, bringing the total to 25.
This will ensure every district across the two counties has a publicly accessible police station.
It’s important to remember the police work from more than 150 buildings across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Many of these stations are not open to the public but still ensure the police are working in your community and ready to respond to crimes.
