Financial Delegated Amounts
The Commissioner has a statutory duty and electoral mandate to ensure an efficient and effective police service and to hold the police to account on behalf of the public. The Commissioner is the recipient of funding relating to policing and crime reduction, including government grant,
council tax precept and other sources of income. Details of the local arrangements relating to income, such as that collected under section 25 of the Police Act 1996, should be set out in local schemes. How this money is allocated is a matter for the Commissioner in consultation with the Chief Constable, or in accordance with any grant terms. Funding for Fixed Camera Enforcements Solutions across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight: Phase One - A2030 Eastern Road, Portsmouth – Fixed Camera Speed Enforcement Solution.
Road Safety, including speeding issues is a key concern for the communities of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
This Decision Request details how the Safer Roads Unit (SRU) proposes to contribute to reducing the number of fatalities, injuries and collisions on our roads. An incremental strategy to identify, install and embed four fixed enforcement solutions across Hampshire and the Isle Wight. This decision request specifically focusses on phase one of this four part proposal only. Phase One – to address the higher care site and offending rates identified on the A2030 Eastern Road, Portsmouth. The timeline for implementation of this phase is approximately nine months. The funding request for phase one implementation is £40,000, plus an ongoing annual cost of £5,000 for servicing and maintenance. Download PDF |
