Weeks after pledging tough action on crime in Shirley, local business owners have told the Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones there has been a significant drop in crime and anti-social behaviour since she took control.

Police Commissioner Donna Jones met with business owners in Shirley Precinct this week after being made aware a group of young people had been terrorising shop owners for the last five months.
PCC Donna Jones welcomes UK ban on ninja swords: “These weapons have no place in our communities.”
It is now illegal to own, sell, manufacture or import ninja swords. The government legislation has been brought in following a campaign by the family of 16-year-old Ronan Kanda who was tragically killed with a ninja sword in 2022.
