Community volunteer nominations open for PCC Awards

30 October 2026

The search is on for community heroes who are making a big difference in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, with nominations now open for Donna Jones’ Police and Crime Commissioner Awards.

This will be the sixth Awards ceremony hosted by Donna Jones, with members of the public encouraged to nominate their Community Volunteer of the Year.

The award recognises those who go above and beyond to make their community safer and can be for someone in a formal volunteer role within an organisation or acting on their own to help others.

Nominations for the Community Volunteer of the Year can be made online here.

The ceremony takes place on Friday 19th March and will recognise the invaluable contribution people across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight make to help keep our communities safe.

The PCC Awards honours staff and volunteers who make a difference by supporting policing in the two counties across the public, private, and voluntary sectors.

Other awards, which are nominated from within policing and commissioned services, will honour police officers, staff, volunteers and partner organisations who directly support the Constabulary and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

PCC Donna Jones said: “Recognising the outstanding contribution made by volunteers, police officers and police staff in keeping communities safe also helps to build safer communities.

“Our annual awards ceremony is an opportunity to say thank you to the dedicated people, including partners and community groups, who make a vital contribution to policing in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to ensure our two counties are safe places to live and work.”

The deadline for members of the public to nominate their Community Volunteer of the Year is Friday 8th January 2027.
