PCC welcomes sentencing of woman found guilty of harassing her
03 July 2026
A woman has been sentenced to an 18-month community order and restraining order for harassing Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones.
Teresa Skelton repeatedly confronted the Police Commissioner at police and public meetings between 2021 and 2024.
The 65-year-old from Winchester was sentenced at Southampton Magistrates Court yesterday (2nd July) after being found guilty in May.
The Police and Crime Commissioner said: “The sentencing brings an end to a long, sustained, personal vendetta against me.
“This has affected my ability to carry out my role as Police and Crime Commissioner. It’s also affected my family, who have also been targeted, and my security.
“Teresa Skelton’s offending against me started in 2020 and her actions were, in the words of the judge, ‘targeted, persistent, distressing, and unacceptable’.
“The judge also noted that she has shown no remorse for her behaviour which has been sustained and targeted.
“The sentence sends a clear message to others who think they can get away with malicious and intimidating behaviour that their actions will result in legal consequences.
“The 10-year restraining order gives me hope that this is now the end of her fixation with me, meaning I can get back to doing my job and serving the people of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight without fear.
“Anyone suffering in the same way should reach out and seek help and support”.
