Your policing priorities asked and answered in live online event
27 May 2025

The Police and Crime Commissioner, Donna Jones, has hosted an online Q&A session with the Acting Chief Constable Sam de Reya.
COPS (Commissioner’s Oversight of Policing Services) was streamed across three Facebook pages – the PCC’s, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary – on Thursday 22 May 2025 from 6pm until 7pm.
The public were invited to pre-submit a question or ask one live during the event. Local Bobbies, police stations, anti-social behaviour, road safety, rural crime, and retail crime were the most popular topics.
There were also questions on cybercrime, e-scooters, serious violence, police recruitment, and prison overcrowding. Over 120 questions were pre-submitted and more than 130 people joined the online session.
PCC Donna Jones said: “COPS is a fantastic way of directly engaging with communities across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to provide answers and reassurance on the crimes and concerns that matter the most to people.
“As Police Commissioner, my number one priority is to listen to residents and businesses to ensure the force delivers effective, local and visible policing that drives down crime and makes communities safer.
“Thank you to everyone who watched COPS or who submitted a question. Your feedback is invaluable and I’m looking forward to the next one when more questions can be put to the Constabulary.”
The COPS recording is available to watch on the PCC’s website at COPS meetings – Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioner.
