What is the Commissioner’s background?

Michael was a Royal Navy Commodore with 30 years experience, including running £100m plus projects; managing complex change programmes in tight financial times; and motivating teams of experienced personnel.

As Hampshire County Council’s Regeneration Project Officer, Michael delivered a major national community project (Rowner), when others thought it impossible. Community engagement & building partnerships were two key skills for the success of this project.

Michael was a Coach on the Commissioner’s Leadership Programme of the Metropolitan Police Service. This experience led to him serving briefly on the Hampshire Police Strategic Independent Advisory Group (IAG).

Michael is from Gosport. and served as a Borough Councillor, championing individuals and local communities.
