Eastern Police Investigation Centre – transport, access and parking

Access to the site

The site is extremely well placed for access from across the east of Hampshire and Portsmouth itself.

The A27 with immediate access to the M27 and A3(M) is located immediately north of the site, running west to Fareham and Southampton and east to Havant and Waterlooville.

Airport Service Road is also linked to the Eastern Road running south towards the city centre and Southsea.

Access to and from the site is being carefully considered throughout the design process

Parking at the site

It is predicted that up to 260 vehicles will be able to park at the Police Investigation Centre (PIC) at peak times, although a large number of staff will work on shift patterns, 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Certain departments will only operate on a Monday to Friday, and some of these in turn will operate on a 9 to 5 basis.

The PIC development team will seek to work with our staff, local businesses and Portsmouth planning officers to develop a long-term parking and traffic management plan which will include public transport, cycle to work and car share options where possible.
