20 March 2020: Commissioner promises to support police and partners
20 March 2020

We are currently facing unprecedented and dynamically changing times. The Government announced last week that the Police and Crime Commissioner and local elections that were due to take place this May will now move to May 2021.
I was elected as the Police and Crime Commissioner with a mandate and duty to serve the public and I shall continue on that basis for the additional year. I took the oath as Police and Crime Commissioner to serve the public and it remains my duty and responsibility to serve.
The circumstances we face today and in the immediate months will allow us to be the best we can be and encourage vibrant and inclusive communities more widely.
Together, and with partners, we will better fight this health battle.
I shall do all that I can do to support the Chief Constable and all Hampshire police officers and staff in delivering their service to the community and will continue to lobby for the resources they need to assist them in their work as they keep our communities safer.
I shall also do all I can to support our partners who are delivering vital services to victims of crime and the most vulnerable in our communities.
I strongly encourage everyone to follow the advice from Government to protect yourselves and to keep your families safe and well.
